Support MCHC while enjoying a Great Evening

Mattappan Community Health Center invited supporters, friends, and neighbors to join us in celebrating our 21st Annual Rock the Boat Gala. We moved Rock the Boat from Saturday to Friday night and from our traditional seated dinner to a new and vibrant reception that included food prepared by four of Boston's finest chefs, the music of the Stan Strickland Group, and a moving and thoughtful look at how MCHC continues to promote better health.

Chef Francisca "Frenchy" Borders, Lead Chef and Program Director for Baraka Community Wellness Cooking Academy, Executive Chef Mike Steele and Sous Chef Joseph McDonough from Above and Beyond Catering, Chef Marcos Carneiro from Gourmet Catering, and Chef Oji Miller Scurry from the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel helped us with our menu and on-site activities that featured interactive food stations and tastings and allowed us to explore the benefits of good nutrition and learn about how our relationship with food affects all aspects of our lives.

The night also featured our Awards Presentation. Mattapan Community Health Center was honored to salute the Denise and William Finard on the occasion of our 21st Rock the Boat with MCHC's annual Community Health Pinnacle Award. They have been strong advocates and major champions of our work. Thank you Bill and Denise! The evening was capped off with, as always with great music, dancing, and an impressive silent auction.
