Dr. Fernanda Freitas, DMD, is the Dental Director at Mattapan Community Health Center and oversees the administration and management of the Department of Dental Health Services, including providers and dental support staff. This includes dentists, hygienists, a dental operations coordinator, dental assistants, an oral health services navigator, and front desk staff. Dr. Freitas has been instrumental in leading the grant-writing initiative to bring additional resources into the health center to expand oral health services. 

Before her tenure at Mattapan Community Health Center, Dr. Freitas worked as a dentist in a reference private dental and medical clinic in Brazil. She led a multi-professional staff composed of dentists, psychiatrists, psychologists, speech therapists, dermatologists, and pediatricians, for more than 10 years. Since the year 2000, Dr. Freitas worked as a volunteer in diverse community health projects, like Saint Rita Church’s dental clinic, which offers free treatment to those in need. 

Dr. Freitas is also a mother of 3 beautiful children. Dr. Freitas endeavors to educate patients on the importance of oral health care and she believes that working as a team is the best way to reach goals. In her free time, she loves cooking, doing crafts, and being together with her children and animals.
